The closed and water-cooled system, has a lot of advantages:A DPL Installation takes up half the production area compared to an air-cooled. No big and noisy fan, with outlet into open air, through ceiling or walls. No Ozone into the environment or the production area. No changes of reflectors, as these are not contaminated from the cooling air. No big loss of efficiency, as reflectors and lamps are smeared. Typically an air cooled lamp looses 30 % within the first 2-300 hours. DPL system only lose the normal loss from the aging of the lamp it selves, which is 30% at 2000 hours. |

The UV-System is a cold system. "Cold" system simply mean, that unnecessary heat and visible light are taken away, as this in theory do not affect the curing. All that is left is UV-Light, which is around 30% of the energy of the lamp. But, these 30% of energy still heats up the web. But energy above 400 Nm has no effect on the curing and should be taken away. This is done, using a "Cold mirror"-coating, in a COLD UV-System. We, at DPL, have enlarged the coating to reach up till 450 nm, which will ensure that all UV energy is available.
The big problem in making an effective and cold system, is to reflect UV-Light onto the web with as little a loss as possible, and take away the heat at the same time. Here DPL comes in as one of the strongest on the market, with our unique and patented system. Test against all competitors has shown, that we have the highest Curing/Non heating ratio of all. By using water only to cool the UV-lamp, we are able to take away more heat than any other UV-System; and still having the high efficiency because of our closed and focused system. In all other UV-Systems, the lamps and reflectors, are contaminated from cooling air and the loss in curing power is as high as 30% after just 200 hours. Together with our optimal design of the reflectors, a high frequency power supply is used. The power supply is steeples and has a high efficiency, even when compared to traditional transformers. This gives the best UV-System on the market to cure on any heat sensitive material. Thus we have the lowest energy consumption, because of the focused UV-light. All light are focused in a 5 mm cylinder along the lamp, just 5 mm under the lamp housing. |
